Job Description
Working with a very capable, highly motivated and growing team of national staff and a global network of consultants, the PD will play a lead role in ensuring quality standards and building the capacity of local staff in all aspects of program management, including but not limited to: RBM principles and practices; M&E; designing and managing training, leadership, dialogue and applied policy research activities; donor reporting; recruiting and managing senior national and international s/t consultants. Additionally, the PD will work closely with HQ, local staff and partners in identifying and developing new short- and long-term initiatives through which the Forum can best contribute to the stability, peace and prosperity of Ethiopia.
Job Requirement
- At least 10 years’ experience in identification, design and implementation of complex governance programs in international organization(s).
- Deep knowledge of Ethiopia’s political and governance dynamics with ability to translate analysis into feasible theories of change and program strategies.
- Deep understanding and experience with core project management tools such as RBM, TOC, etc. particularly as these relate to strengthening governance and peace in fragile environments.
- Familiarity with context analytical tools such as PEA.
- Strong track record in identifying, developing and mobilizing resources for new projects.
- Excellent understanding of capacity development theory and practice, including for identifying needs, formulating strategies and applying state-of-the-art methodologies.
- Proven commitment to and knowledge of gender equality promotion.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in Amharic and English (other Ethiopian languages an asset).
- Proven leader, especially in motivating your team, coordinating multiple actors and interests, building confidence and trust with partners, and ensuring accountability for performance.
- Driven and self-motivated to make the Forum achieve excellence in contributing to stability and peace in Ethiopia.
- Relevant graduate or professional degree (politics, law, governance, conflict management, etc.
