Dimensions of the Role

  • Responsible to prepare/post advance payments
  • Responsible to prepare summaries of payroll deductions including withholding taxes
  • Responsible to deposit, those deductions mentioned to their respective accounts/offices timely
  • Review Air Tickets, Vehicle Rental, Hotel & Related payment, Purchase & Work Orders, and petty cash replenishments
  • Share & Prepare part of quarterly and year end schedules/Reports related to the area of the job assigned

Accountabilities

  • Prepare/post Travel advances
  • Prepare/post project advances
  • Prepare/post payments coming outside Log dept. system
  • Prepare summery sheet by staff for income tax deductions and submit to finance assistant
  • Prepare summery sheet by staff for Pension contributions scheme and submits to finance assistant
  • Prepare summery sheet monthly by vendor for withholding tax and submit to finance assistant
  • Prepare summery sheet for stamp revenue and submit to finance assistant
  • Prepare cost sharing lists by staff and submit to finance assistant
  • Prepare monthly external vendor’s reports and upload on-line to ERCA’s website.
  • Prepare summery sheet by staff for Provident fund scheme and submit to finance assistant
  • Prepare summery sheet by staff for Saving and Loan repayments and submit to finance assistant
  • Review Air Tickets payment
  • Review Vehicle Rental payment
  • Review Hotel & Related payment
  • Review Purchase & Work orders
  • Review Petty cash replenishments.
  • Share & Prepare part of quarterly and year end schedules/Reports related to the area of the job assigned
  • Other responsibility 
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Job Requirements

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential

B.A. degree in Accounting.  At least five years of relevant experience (after graduation) with

Financial process 

Desirable Knowledge

·         Open to new idea

·         Working knowledge at NGO environment.

·         Good knowledge of influencing others.

·         Knowledge of accounting and Ethiopian tax laws

·         Good analytical skill and Personal judgement

 

Skills Specific to the Post

·         Knowledge on computer applications; Excel, word. etc.

·         Good communication skills

·         Who can manage stress full working environment

Competencies and values

·         Ethical, supportive and team player

·         Self-motivated and self-starter

·         Able to work with minimum supervision on his/ her area of assignments
