Purpose of the position:

 

·         The purpose of the JEOP M&E Coordinator position is to lead the overall JEOP M and E system. He/She will lead the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and budgeting of JEOP. He/She will maintain World Vision's Christian values and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

·         To lead the overall JEOP M and E system. He/She will lead the overall planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and budgeting of JEOP. He/She will ensure accountability implementing JEOP M&E System. 

Major Responsibilities

·         Ensure the implementation/functionality of JEOP M &E system, SMILER in all WVE JEOP operational woredas

·         Undertake regular monitoring to JEOP field operations woredas according to the project monitoring plan in order to ensure adequate supervision and improve program quality


·         Lead and engage in surveys, midterm and final evaluations conducted in JEOP operational woredas

·         Build the capacity of field level staff on the development & implementation of JEOP M & E tools & systems.

·         Prepare and submit quarterly, biannual and annual plan and report activities undertaken at JEOP emergency operational woredas as per the requirement of the donors & local government.

·         Lead and engage in JEOP M & E plan development for new JEOP proposal/call forwards

·         Provide updates, constructive feedback and recommendations to JEOP management on regular bases.

Job Requirements

Other Competencies/Attributes:

·         Technical Training qualifications required:  Food aid management, logistics, and financial management experiences.

·         Exposure to food aid programs in the country

·         Experience in managing USAID funded food resources, Commodity management skills and training, logistics and financial management.

·         Knowledge and Experience of working with Regulation 11

·         Appropriate skills and experience in the capacity building and training of staff and partners;

·         Experience in monitoring and evaluation

·         Excellent experience in proposal development, budget preparation, and report writing;

·         Good knowledge of oral and written English language. 

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

·         BA/BSc (Preferably MA/MSc) in Economics, Developmental Studies, Emergency Management, Rural Development, Food Security and other related field of study.

·         6 years of professional working experiences in BA/BSC or 3 years for MSC/MA on emergency responses, particularly food program intervention funded by USAID

Working Environment / Conditions:

·         Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field where disasters strike and sometimes to conflict areas and under stress conditions

·         Travel:  30% Domestic travel is required.

·         On call: 20%
