Job Description
To develop and implement HR policies to comply with labor laws and CBA
To ensure timely filling of all vacancies within acceptable & reasonable time( max 3 months) to all service departments
To ensure general Environmental, Health and Safety Standards are maintained and make sure that conditions for all staff are maintained at all times in compliance with the law
To roll out a proper Performance Management Process for ESPLC for all Departments to drive organizational results, To complete and update the Dashboard, Manpower Plans, departmental structures basis
To ensure records are up to date and proper documentation and filing of all personnel records are in place
To provide advice and support to the management (HODs) and ensure that they have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions in developing HR Plans.
To identify training and development needs and seek opportunities and accordingly organize staff training session, workshops and activities,
To provide basic counseling to staff who have performance related issues and maintaining effective relations with labor
To provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions
To monitor scheduled absences like holidays, weekends, or travel programs and ensure that same is entered in the attendance taking machine
To provide information and assistant to staff and management( HOD) on HR plans and personnel management policies and develop procedures
To promote work place safety and help in enforcing /implementing safety rules
To maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
To ensure Planning, Monitoring and Coordinating Appraisal of employees’ work results and feedbacks are given
To maintain guidelines and recommend management on HR policies and procedures by preparing, updating and ensuring implementation of same
To maintain HR database/records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records
To maintain, update and implement annual and programs for employees in consultation with HODs
To conduct employee orientation/ induction and facilitate good working environment for new comers
To engage with employees on a regular basis to understand the level of motivation in the organization and give feedbacks/reports;
Qualifications:
BA degree from a recognized University in Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Political Science and International Relations with minor Public Administration or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience as a Human Resources Manager, preferably in a manufacturing sector.
Experience in managing a unionized labor
A good knowledge of Ethiopian labor law
Computer literate
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and pleasing personality
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to plan, coordinate, organize, implement, evaluate, and monitor activities
Ability to uphold confidentiality and pay attention to meet deadlines
Strategic and innovative thinking and ability to work independently
Honesty, integrity and consistent leadership quality
