Job Purpose:
The role of this position is developing new common interest groups of the WB project target young Women and support the CIGs in business plan development skills, marketing and financial management skills liaising and in collaboration with the local government authorities and project team towards their sustainable livelihood development and contribution to improving nutrition status of young women and their generation.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Support the establishment of common interest groups and providing market information and training to the young farmer women on market linkages.
· Support young farmer women in selling surplus produce and animal products, collective marketing, and value-addition.
· Participate in the program review, design and implementation plans to identify the beneficiaries and their needs.
· To organize and lead development and sustainability of young women and youth on-farm and off-farm cooperative interventions at Woreda level.
· Facilitate the implementation of Cooperatives controlled by their members who actively participate in setting their policies and making decisions.
· Building Cooperatives capacity and skills for their members, elected representatives, so they can contribute effectively to the development of their cooperatives.
· Ensure Model Farmers’ access to a context-appropriate range of income generation activities and market linkages.
· Make sure that Master Farmers provided with additional training in financial management, marketing, and technical capacity development tailored to the catchment areas of their cooperatives.
· Ensure Experience sharing and learning from other Woredas to explore options to engage in new and innovative IGAs suited to young women during the project time
Contribute and participate in the mid-term and term evaluation of the cooperatives (Effectively document all information related to project successes and best practices, create a bank of pictures, videos, and most significant change stories on the project in the selected sectors, and document and report.
