Salini Impregilo S.p.A, the EPC contractor of the Koysha Hydroelectric Project, would like to invite qualified candidates for the following position;

Job Title/Position: Safety Officer / Engineer

Duty Location: Melekoza Woreda of Gamo Gofa Zone. (Koysha Hydroelectric Project). For those applicants that will be shortlisted for interview which will be carried out at the project site, transportation, accommodation and meal services will be provided.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Auditing production, keeping on the lookout for any unsafe behavior or breaks in regulations
2. Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations
3. Inspecting production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe
4. Ordering repairs for unsafe and/or damaged equipment
5. Focusing on prevention by keeping up with equipment maintenance and employee training
6. Presenting safety principles to staff in meetings or lecture-type training sessions
7. Participating in continuing education on site to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques
8. Meeting company health and safety goals
9. Investigating causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site
10. Finding the best way to prevent accidents
11. Reviewing and reporting on the staff's compliance with health and safety rules and recommending commendations or dismissal based on performance

Job Requirements

1. BA/BSc/MA/MSc/MBA degree in Engineering or Geology      
2. 5+ years of relevant work experience in Occupational Health or Safety environment;
3. Good computer skills (MS word, excel)
4. Very good command of English and Amharic.
5. Good team player/resourceful and good inter-personal relationship
6. Smart/respectful, ability to go extra mile
