Job Description

Background and Rationale

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is present in five regions in Ethiopia, providing refugees community, host community and internally displaced people with emergency relief and help them to rebuild their lives. NRC works within the sectors of Education, Shelter, WASH, Livelihood and Food Security, ICLA (Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance), and Child Protection.

Funded by the European Union , the RDPP-DISCO project is being implemented in Dollo Ado and Boklomayo woredas, in Somali Region. With the aim to improve social cohesion, the project is designed to deliver sustainable and integrated solutions for refugees and host communities in the two woredas requiring a multi sectoral response. Thus, a consortium consisting of Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Organization for Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA), Save the children (SCI) and ZOA has been formed. DISCO focuses on provision of sustainable development and protection solutions for refugees and host communities.  It aims at building the resilience of communities, reducing irregular and secondary migration and improving social cohesion through improved basic service delivery, enhanced livelihoods opportunities, increased access to protection and justice mechanisms and improving coordination and knowledge management system for effective assistance.

In line with this, NRC is paling to organize strategic planning and management training for consortium project staffs, local authority, and other humanitarian actors. The objective of the training is to ensure sustainability of coordination platforms and build effective and adaptable strategic planning which improves the understanding of humanitarian and local authority staffs, to enhance Coordination of Humanitarian and government plans through equipping project implementers with the required skills and knowledge in project specification and scheduling by applying the most effective approach to strategic formulation and strengthen stakeholders communication internally and externally
