Job Description

    The  Hotel Social Media and Graphic Designer: manages and maintains the online reputation of the assigned hotel property through strategic planning and the use of social media. This position increases brand awareness and social media engagement while adhering to brand-specific social media standards and guidelines to satisfy quality assurance standards and benchmarks.
     

    Job Description

      • Determine the message the design should portray
      • Create images that identify a product or convey a message
      • Develop graphics and visual or audio images for product illustrations, logos, and websites
      • Create designs either by hand or using computer software packages
      • Select colors, images, text style, and layout
      • Working with management, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production, and timescales
      • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
      • Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
      • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
      • Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality
      • Present the design to management
      • Incorporate changes recommended by the clients into the final design
      • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them
      • Design collateral for an internal audience
      • Perform as on-camera talent when appropriate for television features
      • Maintain company intranet through content updates and creating new features
      • Assist with communication-related projects
      • Schedule photography and videotaping sessions
      • Perform other duties that contribute to the success of the department and company, as requested
      • Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines

      Job Requirements

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

      Required:

        • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Design, Marketing or related discipline
        • 4+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency
        • Strong Knowledge of Social Media Sites and Applications.
        • Experience with Google Drive and other storage websites
        • Effective Communications Skills; both oral and written in English.
        • Excellent time management skills.
        • Ability to work well both autonomously and as part of a team.
        • Proficiency in photography, videography, and graphic design.
        • Experience with apps or sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. are a plus.
        • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software
        • Exceptional creativity and innovation
        • Excellent time management and organizational skills
        • Accuracy and attention to detail
        • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment
        • Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines
        • Ability to speak, write, and/or read in English
        • Extensive experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design, specifically with mockups, web design and multimedia presentation
        • Adaptive design eye and skill
        • Excellent communication skills
        • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients
