Job Description

Video production to document Enterprise Partners’ work

BACKGROUND

DAI Europe, together with consortium partners First Consult; Enclude; and ITAD, is managing the UKaid-funded Enterprise Partners (EP) which aims to support and transform the private sector and Ethiopia’s continued economic growth over seven years with a £15m grant fund.

EP is utilising the Making Markets Work for the Poor approach (M4P) and has two main pillars to achieve the goal of integrating the poor, and especially women, in sustainable economic enterprises that create jobs and improve incomes. The planned impact is to create 45,000 jobs (75% of which will be held by women) and increase the incomes of 65,000 households by at least 20%.

Background specific to this assignment

In order to adequately document and disseminate the experience and results achieved, EP is hiring a video production company to produce two (2) videos. The first video will be short (a maximum of 10 minutes) and will document the 7-year journey of Enterprise Partners since inception in 2012 to final-year activities in 2020. The second video will be longer (a maximum of 30 minutes) and will document the experience and learnings of EP’s flagship project HIPSTER (Hawassa Industrial Park Sourcing and Training Employees in the Region). The company will work closely with EP intervention teams and the Strategic Communication Team (SCT) to research and produce two short videos that show EP’s work.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the assignment is to produce high-quality, highly engaging and informative videos that can communicate the experience and learnings from the HIPSTER programme and the overall EP history.

SPECIFIC TASKS

Representatives of the company will review existing literature and meet with the relevant EP team members in order to understand the projects and inform their work. Specific tasks include:

  1. Research, through desk review of reports and data provided by EP, the HIPSTER project and EP’s 7-year journey
  2. Based on the information gathered, propose a story outline for the two videos and then develop detailed scripts for both videos according to the agreed storyline
  3. Submit a production plan stating where, who and how videos will be shot so that EP makes arrangements
  4.   Shoot videos and produce audio required for the videos and share draft videos to EP
  5.   The video will be in English language. Voice-over and/or subtitles will need to be done in English as necessary.
  6.   Revise and finalize videos as per feedback from EP

DELIVERABLES

The consultant will work to develop storylines, video scripts, draft videos and two final videos.  Further, the company will be expected to support in developing a dissemination plan for the videos. The videos will need to be shot, edited and stored in the highest quality possible format which supports playing across various platforms including web and television.
