Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The driver must have a safe driving record; follow all state and national driving laws, rules, and regulations. In this position, you will follow prearranged routes to destinations. You will also maintain vehicle upkeep and cleanliness.

REPORTING LINES: The Project Driver will report to Filed Office Project Coordinator and the project management team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Practice safe driving habits
• Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards
• Maintain vehicle equipment; replace oil, fill gas tank, perform general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety
• Follow schedules and rerouting in a timely manner when faced with traffic or congestion
• Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties
• Excellent time management skills
• Organized and able to follow a schedule
• Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time during daily routine
• Previous professional experience driving preferred; training may be provided
• Able to work night, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Other duties as assigned by the by the project field Coordinator and the project management team

Job Requirements:

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• 3rd Grade Valid driver’s license
• High school complete or equivalent; relevant experience or knowledge, skills, and mental ability,
• Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment
• Belief in Ethiopian Catholic Church Mission and Vision

Languages: Fluency in spoken English, Oromiffa and Amharic, clear and concise reporting in English is strongly preferred.

Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Duty Station: Nekemte

Salary: As per the scale of the organization
