1.      JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Clinical and Quality Lead, Training and Mentorship consultant will work towards improving the quality of maternal health care services mainly focusing on Family Planning (FP) and Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) that is intended to be ensured by a catchment-based mentoring program through experienced and skilled health professionals on RMNCH. Catchment based mentorship is carried out in a stepwise approach from CoE to QAHs, and from QAHs to Health Centres.

 

2.      DUTIES/TASKS

  • Coordinate and provide different TOTs and basic trainings on CAC, FP and mentorship to ensure the first quality assurance hubs have a minimum level of clinical delivery competency and can begin to offer training, as well as  mentoring to the HCs.
  • Support COE to provide training, mentoring and supportive supervision to quality assurance hubs (QAHs) at referral/general/primary hospitals and to other institutions;
  • In collaboration with other FPbC team, ensure the implementation of regular mentoring and supportive supervision from QAHs to HCs;
  • Provide technical support on FP and CAC mentorship activities and demonstrate improvement in the quality of FP and CAC services at government health facilities
  • Develop mentorship report, best practices and progress update on regular bases 
  • Together with other FPbC team, develop and Organize tools for the mentorship process, and monitoring and evaluation framework for FP and CAC services
  • Provide technical support and Coordinate mentorship activities conducted by Quality hubs on catchment health centers
  • Work closely with FPbC support office, quality and clinical service team and Quality assurance advisors at area program offices
  • Willing to carry out any other activities assigned by supervisors

3.      PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

A.    Qualifications Requirements

a.      Education

  • BSC in Midwifery or Nurse and MPH/RH,

b.      Experience

  • At least seven years of work experience, among these, at least two years on training and mentoring RMNCH services

B.     Skills, Attitudes, Attributes

  • Have demonstrated knowledge and skills on maternal health services and proficient on FP and CAC services
  • Have excellent skills in report writing, communication, and training facilitation 
  • Demonstrated skill in mentorship and adult learning principles
  • Have been working as a practitioner at HCs/Hospitals mainly on maternal health services, and aware of current FMoH FP and CAC guidelines, protocols and strategies
  • Convincing carrier path in the process of maternal health care service quality improvement process
  • Have demonstrated technical support role on Regional, Sub-city/Zonal and woreda health offices
  • Pro-Choice

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Employment Type: Contract for 3 months

Salary:  As per MSIE Salary Scale
