Project HOPE is seeking Regional Program Operations Director for a potential five year USAID-funded Eliminate Tuberculosis from Ethiopia (ETBE) project, to reduce tuberculosis (TB) incidence and mortality by addressing the critical gaps and challenges of the Ethiopian NTP. ETBE aims to improve the quality, access, utilization, and sustainability of TB services. This program will focus in implementing high impact/high yield interventions for improved TB programs.

JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Program Operations Director will be leading and coordinating the implementation of the ETBE’s interventions in the regions and zones. S/he will report to the Chief of Party and will be a member of the senior project management team. S/he has also a reporting responsibility for technical, financial, contractual and human resources issues to the administrative system. S/he works closely with the technical director and technical advisors to ensure efficient use of available experts within the project.
The Regional Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and technical direction of all activities including the work of stakeholders at regional level. S/he is responsible for achieving required project results through effective project planning and management, technical advising, administration and oversight, monitoring and evaluation, research, CLA and partnership management in the regions. In coordination with the COP, s/he will ensure a comprehensive approach to institutional development and strengthening, and provides programmatic leadership to ensure seamless planning, implementation of activities and technical support in the regions. S/he coordinates with the Technical Director, Finance and Operations Director to support the technical and operational management of the regions in line with Activity’s approaches and guidelines. S/he is responsible for the oversight and the management of project staff in the regions. S/he is responsible for timely implementation, monitoring and reporting of project interventions and results to the senior management.
Job Requirements
· MD and Master’s Degree in Public Health or an advanced degree in a related health field from an accredited college or university;
· A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and implementing TB, TB/HIV, MDR-TB and/or other infectious disease prevention and control programs;
· The capability, qualification and experience of Managing similar health projects/programs and preferably TB and MDR-TB programs;
· Possess core competencies and experiences of for project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
· Possess core competencies and experiences of teamwork, problem-solving, conflict management, partnership with local governments and negotiation skills;
· Past experience with donor-funded projects and particularly TB programs in Ethiopia or a similar setting would be an advantage;
· Excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
· Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic.
