Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the organization’s accounting records are properly maintained and are adequate/sufficient to provide detailed information for the general control of accounts and preparation of financial statements.
  • Preparing reconciliations of bank balances with book balances for different project funds including production of financial statement reports for PMC headquarters and donor agencies on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring that annual budget, quarterly cash flow statements, monthly fund utilization and variance analysis reports are prepared and all relevant financial reports are produced and maintained regularly in line with terms of agreement made with partner organizations/donor agencies.
  • Preparing payment vouchers, effecting payments and ensuring that all financial records are backed with complete supporting documents and are in compliance with Government and donor requirements.
  • Ensuring that financial obligations to the government and other creditors (if any) are settled before due dates and ensuring that debtors and creditors balances are reconciled regularly

Job Requirement

  • MA or BA Degree in Accounting or Financial Management or in related fields from a recognized College or University.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in grant management and operation of the accounts of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for a MA degree holder OR a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience for a BA degree holder.
  • Applicant should be computer literate with very good performance in the use and application of computer soft wares such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and with special knowledge and skills in the efficient use and application of latest Peachtree Accounting. and/or Quick Book.
