Link Net – providing safe, fast, affordable Internet in Ethiopia.As a result of the advancement of technology and the need for more business processes, it has become vital to introduce and support businesses (operational activities) with up-to-date technologies, using the Internet. The rationale for establishing Link Net emerged despite considerable investment made by Ethio Telecom; as access to the Internet, especially through Land line/ ADSL was still very low. This situation triggered Link Net to use and balance the output created by local IT professionals, thus solving the backlog of demand for the Internet.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to make requirement gathering and analysis
• Experienced with cable types such as UTP, coaxial, STP, fiber, cable installation guide lines, wireless technologies.
• Preparing project proposal documents (High Level Design & Low Level Design);
• Providing expertise and guidance about management,security & maintenance of the network system
• Creating an efficient network system
• Implementing secure network administration principles,mitigating security threats and implementing routing protocol.
• Managing effective pre-deployment,deployment &post-deployment activities of projects
• Solving problems related to the network and the systems
• Developing user guide manuals
• Ensuring that juniors/teams own the required skill sets so as to deliver services/products in an effective & efficient way
• Allocating tasks and clear deliverables to subordinates and making sure that individuals/teams are aware of their duties & responsibilities
• Requirement gathering and analysis skills;project proposal document preparation skill (High Level Design & Low Level Design); updated with advances in networking technologies; server and storage device hardware devices administration, configuration, operation, management and disaster recovery; data center design and network implementation experience
• Good knowledge and skill of: IP addressing and TCP/IP; LAN, Man, and WAN; Cabling; Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches; Router configuration; Routing protocols and Wireless configuration; DNS, SNMP; Active Directory; Network infrastructure; Application infrastructure; Deployment of windows; Troubleshooting network problems; VOIP, IPSEC, Firewalls; Security vulnerabilities and countermeasures.

• BSC degree or related with 4 years of proven related practical experience(system or network administration in IT company)
• Networking certifications is (Mandatory):CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNA Security/IINS,or CCDA or CompTIA Network+ or related. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional will be a plus);
• Different operating system certifications (optional):MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist); MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional Enterprise Admin); SCSA (Sun Certified System Administrator);RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer);CompTIA Linux+;Linux Certified Professional;UNIX/LINUX,Ubuntu Certification in2003 Microsoft Server-MCSE,MCSA; ISA/TMGServer Certification;CertificationinSolaris10oraboveSystem Administrations
• Knowledge of data storage sand back up systems

• Good interpersonal communication &written skills;nonrepresentational; must be a team player and willing to teach & learn; well-organized.
