NRC Ethiopia has been in operation from 2011 and operates out of seven offices across Ethiopia (including the country office). The programmes are responding to a variety of both short onset emergencies as well as protracted crisis depending on the area of operation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Generic responsibilities
· Implement delegated support function portfolio according to the plan of action
· Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
· Ensure proper filing of documents
· Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
Specific Responsibilities
The Officer should work closely with the Project Coordinator on all aspects of the project implementation:
· Identify schools who host many refugees and include in NRC’s programmes for support;
· Assist in compiling annual and monthly report to be submitted to the PC;
· Liaison with relevant authorities and communities as appropriate;
· Maintain and keep database related to the education activities and update regularly;
· Ensure that target beneficiaries receive the necessary support, explore and asses new and better ways of assistance;
· Follow up & monitor the implementation of language training;
· Conduct follow up to VST institutions where NRC sends trainees;
· Engage in targeting of schools, students and other stakeholders based on pre-defined parameters;
· Conduct material distribution and maintain proper recording of targeted students and public schools;
· Coordinate with the Livelihoods team of the Addis Ababa programme and ensure vocational skill graduates receive livelihoods support so that they engage in meaningful livelihoods
· Facilitate and support the implementation of community dialogue;
· Assist in the carrying out of post distribution monitory, baseline and end line assessments
· Identify and support program logistic needs
· Maintain program synergy with ICLA, Food Security and Livelihoods and WaSH in school core competencies
· Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Competences:
· University Degree in Education, Educational Planning and Management, Psychology or related fields
· At least three years of experience in similar roles
· Experience working in Multi sectoral and integrated programmes
· Good understanding of humanitarian assistance, emergency education, coordination, gender equality, the Ethiopian education system and TVET
· Excellent computer knowledge with command on MS Excel among other packages of MS Office.
· Experience on working with Data analysis software/programmes
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitation skills and writing skills
· Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
· knowledge of English language both written and spoken
