    General Functions

    Under the direct supervision of the DTM Reporting Officer and the overall supervision of the DTM Project Officer in Addis Ababa, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for supporting in the drafting and dissemination of all DTM information products including, but not limited to, the National Displacement Report, Regional Dashboards, Rapid Response Assessment reports, Weekly Mobility Tracking reports, situation updates, displacement profiles, and other relevant products.

     

    Core Functions / Responsibilities:

    1. Support in drafting, editing and proofreading of all relevant DTM information products.
    2. Under the guidance of the DTM Reporting Officer, produce info graphics to improve data users’ understanding of DTM tools and data.
    3. Help improve the aesthetics of all DTM information products through graphic design. 
    4. Under the guidance of the DTM Reporting Officer, conduct analysis of DTM data for inclusion in DTM information products.
    5. Support the DTM Reporting Officer in improving and supporting the dissemination methods for DTM information products and the positioning of DTM products among users.
    6. With the approval of the DTM Project Officer and DTM Reporting Officer, upload all DTM reports to the DTM website and ensure timely sharing of products with HQ and the Regional Office as assigned.
    7. Under the guidance of the DTM Information Management Team, support in the monitoring of DTM data through the reporting process and provide feedback regarding any inconsistencies.
    8. Support the DTM Reporting Officer in determining relevant information for inclusion and report development for all DTM reports.
    9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • University degree (MA) in Journalism or Political Science or similar degree with relevant work experience involving Graphic Design, Editing or Publishing.
  • University degree (MA) in Graphic Design, Media or similar

Experience

  • Experience in media, graphic design, editing and publishing or similar at professional or internship level.
  • Ability to use publishing software like Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher and others.
  • Ability to use graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel for conducting basic data analysis.
  • Ability to use geographic information systems (GIS) such as ArcGIS is an advantage.
  • Experience in film and video production is an advantage. 

Languages

  • Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of French and/ or Spanish is an advantage.

In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
